What is your career plan?
Sometimes what we plan is not the path we get. I am a prime example of that. I hold 3 degrees, 2 in Interior Design and 1 in business, and in the daily I might use 35% of those towards my career. I am currently on a journey, I am evolving and growing, changing as I go.
I left an industry, corporate job that eas holding me back from becoming more. What i have learned there is I must work for myself, to control how and when I work and the income I make with no cap. I have know for a while that there is money in real estate. So I’m starting there.
This week, I passed one of the 2 exams that I need for the next branch of my career path. I am going to get my real estate license for Nevada. I’m so close I can taste it. But it’s only a stepping stone. The long-term plan is much bigger than that.
I am determined to own and operate a business, specifically a property management business. I will have a portfolio of homes and rentals that I own and lease to bring me a steady passive income, and that will give me the opportunity to provide and enjoy the life I want.
My background is my creative side. As a branch of that property management company, I will also operate a design business specific to flipping homes. I still love design, as you might have noticed from this blog. Color is my expertise, but I love kitchen and bath, textiles, etc. You have to have a passion, and this will work hand in hand with my money maker.
It might seem simple, or it might sound boring to some. But it’s challenging to buy and sell property, to know true value, and to sell to others. I always want to be challenged and keep growing my skills.
Overall, my career path is to just keep making it happen. I have made a choice to do this for now with a plan I think will work. As I go, I will adjust. But end games are financial freedom and a career I enjoy, with lots of projects mixed with vacations. I love to cruise! So here’s to the next steps and halfway there’s!
